Go-to-market strategy and the capital raise for Jason Scott, a luxury menswear brand about to launch. He came for capital; we had to really change his business plan.

A real designer with a great fabric relationship in Italy, projections that conflicted with each other, and a raise sized to a plan target nobody had built from the doors up.

Problem

A different business plan: the true capital need built from the assortment up, and a launch that proves the brand before it spends the raise.

What we did

Rebuild the plan from the door up with no inherited number in it and let it disagree. Trunk shows before wholesale. Lead with the finding. Raise mechanics through Prince Capital, no fee on capital.

Result

The raise as sized did not cover the modeled need; he re-sized it into a smaller first round with a second round planned. Discovery Land trunk shows by my referral; a purchase order from a private aviation company.

He was not asking for enough money. That was the problem. A number he could argue with was worth more to him than a number I agreed with.Jesse Fowler
